40 Communities Gained Clean Water

Turning Compassion into Action. Turning Supply Chains into Humanitarian Lifelines.

When a powerful earthquake struck Myanmar in 2025, thousands of families suddenly lost access to safe drinking water. Wells collapsed, pipelines ruptured, and entire communities were left facing contaminated sources that threatened their health and survival. The Global Supply Chain Leadership Alliance (GSLA) Foundation responded swiftly—activating partners on the ground, mobilising water technology, and coordinating logistics to restore clean water where it was needed most.

Across villages, church centres, makeshift shelters, and even monasteries, we brought more than technology.

We brought clean water, renewed safety, and hope that flows again.

Clean-Water Relief for Earthquake-Affected Communities

In May 2025, GSLA and its partners undertook a dedicated clean-water mission across Sagaing, Inle, and Mandalay, regions where water systems had been severely damaged by the quake. The mission team worked alongside local responders to assess broken wells, identify contamination points, and deploy rapid solutions that could meet urgent needs.

Through Wateroam’s ROAMfilter Plus units—lightweight, durable, and capable of producing hundreds of litres of safe water per hour—families received immediate access to drinking water. GSLA supported the entire operation by coordinating the humanitarian supply chain, ensuring vital equipment arrived on-site quickly and reliably.

Clean water that restores life; logistics that keep it flowing.

Safe Water Technology in Action

The ROAMfilter Plus played a critical role in stabilising affected communities. Each system provided dependable, high-volume purification using ultrafiltration membranes that remove 99.9999% of bacteria and 99.99% of viruses. Designed for ease and resilience, the units were:

  • Quick to assemble and simple for locals to operate

  • Capable of producing up to 300 litres of safe water every hour

  • Suitable for communal use, supporting up to 100 people per filter

  • Able to run on handpump, gravity-feed, pipeline or external pump

  • Portable and flight-ready for emergency deployment

Whether installed in a remote village or a crowded emergency shelter, each unit made clean water accessible within minutes—bringing immediate relief to families in crisis.

Reaching Families in Crisis

Throughout the mission, water filtration systems were delivered to communities where contamination posed the highest risk. Local teams performed on-site demonstrations, taught hygiene practices, and ensured that each community understood how to manage and maintain their filters.

Clean-water solutions were deployed to:

  • Church relief centres caring for displaced families

  • Buddhist monasteries supporting villagers who fled collapsed homes

  • Makeshift shelters housing hundreds of quake survivors

  • Small clinics and health posts overwhelmed with trauma patients

  • Rural villages where wells and boreholes were rendered unusable

Everywhere water had become unsafe, clean water was restored through the coordinated efforts of local leaders and GSLA partners.

Hope Through Local Empowerment

This mission was delivered in partnership with the Myanmar Assemblies of God (MAG), whose deep community networks made it possible to reach remote and underserved areas efficiently. MAG volunteers supported installation, monitored usage, and ensured every filter continued to operate safely.

The clean-water initiative strengthened communities by providing:

  • Safe drinking water to 2,000 survivors

  • Training for local operators to manage and maintain filtration units

  • Reduced exposure to cholera, diarrhoea, and other waterborne illnesses

  • A sustainable solution that will continue serving families long after initial deployment

  • Greater resilience and ownership among communities navigating recovery

Clean water does more than quench thirst—
it becomes the foundation upon which communities rebuild.
