When a devastating earthquake shook Myanmar, the Global Supply Chain Leadership Alliance (GSLA) Foundation stepped in—fast. Partnering with local teams on the ground, we brought medical care, clean water, vital supplies, and emotional support directly to communities who needed it most.
Across churches, shelter camps, and even a Buddhist monastery, we delivered hope with hands that healed and hearts that listened.
In May 2025, GSLA and our partners conducted a multifaceted humanitarian mission in Nay Pyi Taw and Taungoo, Myanmar, addressing urgent needs arising from natural disasters and displacement.
The mission team included two dedicated teams from GSLA, including a doctor, a nurse, and a counsellor, along with Myanmar counterparts. The team provided vital medical outreach through clinics that served over 50 individuals, including health checks, medical treatments, and eye care.
The GSLA Foundation supported this medical outreach by coordinating the supply chain logistics and ensuring timely delivery of medical supplies essential for the clinics. Support that meets real needs—supplies that go the distance.
Alongside healthcare, the mission emphasized spiritual and emotional healing, with group sharing, prayer sessions, and counseling offered to those grieving losses from the recent earthquake.
The missions extended beyond healthcare to distribute essential supplies to vulnerable communities. In the evenings, the team visited a shelter camp housing 287 families where food staples such as cooking oil, noodles, rice, ropes, solar lights, and potable water filters were provided to improve daily living conditions.
Water filter demonstrations and hygiene education fostered better health practices. Donations and support were given to churches, shelter camps housing hundreds of families, and even , Buddhist monasteries providing tangible aid alongside compassionate care.
On May 21, the Pray, Share, Care program engaged 150 families, including displaced people groups. Across 150 families of displaced communities—we ran programs that brought people together. Through sharing, prayer, storytelling, and compassion, 80 individuals discovered renewed hope and faith.
Families also received 10kg of rice, medical and eye checkups, and prayers for healing. Solar lights were distributed in an Anglican camp sheltering 50 families, and a donation was made to a Buddhist monastery serving about 100 families.
The GSLA Foundation facilitated the procurement and distribution of critical relief supplies such as rice, solar lights, and water filters, demonstrating its commitment to humanitarian logistics that empower frontline relief efforts.
The combined mission reached 1,000 families, delivering essential relief including water filters, rice, cooking oil, noodles, ropes, and solar lights. With focus on both physical and spiritual renewal, the mission brought hope and healing.
This missions was proudly supported by GSLA, CRU Singapore, Boon Software and several GSLA partners and members, highlighting a collaborative approach involving supply chain expertise to deliver relief efficiently.
The GSLA Foundation not only supported this mission’s logistics but is actively engaged in building capacity for humanitarian supply chains, developing training programs, and providing scholarships to empower future leaders in the humanitarian sector. This foundation’s long-term vision strengthens the infrastructure that allows missions like this to succeed.
